TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Discover Portrush Walking Tours, delivered by the not-for-profit Portrush Heritage Group. By booking or participating in one of our tours, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions, governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.

We aim to provide a high-quality, welcoming, and safe experience for all guests while supporting local heritage and community initiatives.

  1. Booking and Payment
    Tours should be booked in advance via our online booking system or approved partners.
    Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
    Your booking confirmation email acts as your ticket – please bring this with you (digital or printed).
    Walk-up bookings are welcome, subject to availability, however advance booking is strongly advised as tour capacity may be full.
    Tours may require a minimum number of participants to operate.
  2. Pricing
    Prices are listed per person unless otherwise stated.
    Concession tickets (if applicable) may require proof of eligibility.
    As a not-for-profit initiative, all proceeds are reinvested into heritage, education, and community projects.
  3. Cancellations and Refunds
    We understand that plans can change.
    Free cancellation or rescheduling is available up to 48 hours before your tour start time.
    Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the tour are non-refundable.
    No-shows are non-refundable.
    If we need to cancel a tour (see Section 6), you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule if mutually agreeable.
    Bookings made through a third-party reseller such as Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Viator or GetYourGuide are subject to their cancellation terms and conditions and you must contact the agent directly. We cannot cancel a tour on your behalf with a reseller. Reimbursements will be made by the reseller, subject to their terms.
  4. Arrival and Punctuality
    Tours begin at the scheduled time from Portrush Town Hall (unless otherwise stated).
    Please arrive 10 minutes early.
    Tours will depart on time and cannot be delayed for late arrivals.
    Late arrivals may not be able to join and may lose their booking.
  5. Participation and Fitness
    Our tours last approximately 90 minutes and cover around 1 mile on mostly flat, well-maintained paths.
    By booking, you confirm that you (and your group) are fit and able to participate.
    Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for coastal walking and changing weather conditions.
    If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance so we can do our best to support your experience.
  6. Weather and Unforeseen Circumstances
    Tours operate in most weather conditions – please dress appropriately.
    In the event of severe weather and/or safety concerns, we may cancel or modify a tour. In such cases, guests will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
    In the event of circumstances beyond our control e.g. force majeure, emergency incidents, national transport shutdowns, public health restrictions, refund will be offered where feasible.
  7. Safety and Behaviour
    Guests must follow all instructions from the tour guide.
    We reserve the right to refuse participation or remove individuals whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful to others or the local community.
    No refunds will be issued in such cases.
  8. Children and Young People
    Discover Portrush Walking Tours are best suited to adults and children aged 12 and over.
    Parental discretion is advised for younger guests.
    Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
    Guardians are responsible for the safety and behaviour of children in their care.
  9. Liability
    Participation in the tour is at your own risk.
    Portrush Heritage Group will not be liable for:
    – Personal injury (except where caused by negligence)
    – Any indirect loss, consequential loss, loss of enjoyment, or loss/ damage to personal belongings arising from participation in the tour.
    – Guests are responsible for their own safety during the tour.
    – Guests acknowledge that coastal walking environments may include uneven surfaces, changing weather conditions, steps, gradients, and proximity to water.
  10. Photography and Media
    Guests are welcome to take photographs during the tour for personal use.
    From time to time, we may take photos for promotional purposes.
    Please inform your guide at the start if you do not wish to appear in any images.
  11. Accessibility and Inclusion
    We are committed to making our tours as inclusive as possible.
    The route is mostly flat and designed to be accessible for many visitors; however, some sections may present challenges for certain mobility needs.
    Hearing loops and other supports may be available on request.
    If you have specific needs, please contact us in advance so we can support your experience.
  12. Changes to Tours
    We reserve the right to:
    – Adjust routes
    – Substitute guides
    – Modify content
    This may be necessary due to weather, events, or operational reasons. Any changes will aim to maintain the quality of the experience.
  13. Private and Group Bookings
    Specific cancellation terms apply to private and group bookings:
    – Cancellation 8 days or more prior to a tour date: A refund less 10% administration fee will be provided if participant/ agent cancels.
    – Cancellation notice between 1 week and 48 hours prior to tour commencement date: A 50% cancellation fee of the total cost applies if participant/ agent cancels.
    – Cancellation notice with 48 hours of tour commencement date: A 100% cancellation fee applies if participant/ agent cancels.
  14. Intellectual Property
    Tour content, scripts, branding, and materials remain the intellectual property of Portrush Heritage Group and may not be reproduced commercially without permission.
    Commercial photography, filming, or recording requires prior written permission.
  15. Privacy
    Your personal information will be handled in accordance with UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws and used only for booking and communication purposes. We do not share your data with third parties without consent.

  17. Our Community Commitment
    Discover Portrush Walking Tours are delivered by the Portrush Heritage Group, a not-for-profit organisation. The tours were established in 2026 with support from The 153rd Open Legacy Fund held at Royal Portrush Golf Club. By joining a tour, you are helping to preserve local heritage, support community storytelling, and contribute to a more sustainable and regenerative tourism model in Portrush.
